Connection with your Google account

Google Calendar connects by authorizing Frihet in a Google window. There are no keys to copy. Frihet stores the tokens encrypted.

What it does in Frihet​

  • Connects your Google account — You authorize Frihet and the integration shows as Connected in Integrations.
  • Stores the tokens encrypted — Frihet keeps the access token and the refresh token to maintain the connection.
  • Lets you disconnect — From Danger zone you can disconnect the integration.

Permissions Google asks for: view and edit events on your calendars (calendar.events) and view your calendars (calendar.readonly).

What Frihet does not do​

  • Creating calendar events from invoice due dates.
  • Syncing tax dates (VAT, IRPF, returns) or payment deadlines to your calendar.
  • Reminders, colors or event categories.
  • Choosing the target calendar or the time zone from Frihet.
  • Reading events from your calendar inside Frihet.

Requirements​

  • A Google account with Google Calendar.
  • Each connected integration counts toward your plan limit: 2 on Free, 5 on Pro, unlimited on Premium.

Connect Google Calendar​

  1. Go to Integrations and open Google Calendar.
  2. Click Connect Google Calendar.
  3. In the Google window, choose your account and accept the permissions.
  4. You return to Frihet, which shows the integration as Connected.

If you cancel on the Google screen, you return to Frihet with the canceled-connection notice. Click Connect Google Calendar again when you want to retry.

Use cases​

Keep your Google account linked​

The connection leaves your Google account authorized in Frihet and counted among your integrations.

Calendar alerts from your flows​

Frihet does not create calendar events on its own. Frihet webhooks (Premium plan) can feed an n8n, Make or Zapier flow that creates the event in Google Calendar.

Security​

  • Frihet stores the tokens encrypted.
  • You can revoke access at any time from your Google account (myaccount.google.com/permissions) or by disconnecting the integration in Frihet.

Troubleshooting​

Frihet shows that the connection was canceled​

  • Repeat the process with Connect Google Calendar and accept the permissions Google requests.

I want to switch Google accounts​

  1. In Danger zone, click Disconnect Google Calendar.
  2. Connect again and choose the other account.
