What events sync

Invoice Due Dates

When you create an invoice with a due date:

Frihet:
Invoice #1042
Concepto: Diseño web
Client: Empresa ABC
Due Date: 20 febrero 2025

Google Calendar:
20 febrero - Invoice due date #1042 (Empresa ABC - €2.500)
Reminder: 3 días antes (17 febrero)
Location: Frihet App

Tax Dates

According to your country (Spain):

17 de febrero - VAT enero (due date)
25 de marzo - IRPF 2024 (declaration)
10 de diciembre - VAT noviembre (due date)

All these are created automatically in Google Calendar.

Recurring Expense Payments

If you have recurring expenses (rent, electricity, etc.):

1 de cada mes - Rent payment (€1.200)
15 de cada mes - Payroll payment
20 de cada mes - Insurance payment (€150)

They are created as recurring events.

Real Example

Your Google Calendar after connecting Frihet:

Febrero 2025:
5 feb → Invoice due date #1038 (Juan García €800) - Orange color
10 feb → Invoice due date #1040 (Empresa SL €2.100) - Orange color
17 feb → VAT enero - Due date - Red color
17 feb → Reminder: invoice due date #1042 - Orange color
20 feb → Invoice due date #1042 (Empresa ABC €2.500) - Orange color
25 mar → IRPF 2024 - Declaration - Red color

Automatic Reminders

For each event created, Frihet configures reminders:

EventReminders
Invoice Due Date3 days before, 1 day before
Tax Date7 days before, 3 days before
Recurring Payment1 day before, 2 hours before

You can change these in Google Calendar per event.

Colors and Categories

Frihet groups events with colors:

ColorType
🟠 OrangeInvoice due dates
🔴 RedImportant tax dates
🔵 BlueRecurring payments
🟢 GreenCustom milestones

This way you identify them quickly in your calendar.

Dedicated Frihet Calendar

You can create a separate calendar for Frihet:

  1. In Google Calendar, create a new calendar: "Frihet Finanzas"
  2. In FrihetSettingsGoogle Calendar, select that calendar
  3. All Frihet events go there
  4. Keeps your personal calendar clean

Advantages:

  • ✅ Doesn't clutter personal calendar
  • ✅ Easy to share with accountant/tax advisor
  • ✅ You can hide it when not needed

Share with Accountant

If you have a tax advisor or accountant:

  1. Create a "Frihet Finanzas" calendar (previous step)
  2. Share that calendar with your accountant:
    • Go to Google Calendar → calendar
    • Share → add accountant's email
    • Permissions: "Read" (they can only view)
  3. Your accountant sees:
    • Declaration due dates
    • Document deadlines
    • Critical tax dates

Edit events in Google Calendar

If you change a date in Google Calendar:

Does NOT sync to Frihet

Synchronization is Frihet → Google Calendar (one-way).

If you need to change a date:

  1. Edit in Frihet (the source of truth)
  2. Google Calendar updates automatically
  3. Do not edit directly in Google Calendar

Remove an Event

If you delete an invoice in Frihet:

Frihet: You delete invoice #1042

Google Calendar: The event is automatically deleted

You don't need to do anything in Google Calendar.

Disconnect Google Calendar

  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Find Google Calendar
  3. Click "Disconnect"
  4. Existing events remain in Google Calendar (they are not deleted)

Afterwards:

  • New Frihet events do not sync
  • Existing events remain
  • You can reconnect later if you wish

Privacy

  • Write-only — Frihet only creates events, it does not read your personal calendar
  • No access to personal events — It does not see your private appointments
  • Synced data — Due dates and dates (no sensitive client details)
  • Instantly revocable — Disconnect whenever you want

Advanced Configuration

Event Format

The default format is:

Invoice due date #1042 (Empresa ABC - €2.500)

You can customize in SettingsGoogle CalendarEvent Format:

[INVOICE] #1042 - Empresa ABC (€2.500)

Or simpler:

Due Date: Empresa ABC €2.500

Exclude Specific Clients

If you have a client you don't want in the calendar:

  1. SettingsGoogle CalendarExclude clients
  2. Select clients (e.g., "Internal client")
  3. Their due dates do not sync

Useful if you have internal clients or subsidiaries.

Time Zone

Frihet automatically detects your time zone. If it's incorrect:

  1. SettingsIntegrationsGoogle Calendar
  2. Change time zone
  3. Save

Events are created at 09:00 your local time.

Troubleshooting

"I don't see the events in Google Calendar"

  • Verify that Google Calendar is connected ✅
  • In Configure, enable "Invoice due dates"
  • Wait 2 minutes
  • Reload Google Calendar (F5)

"Why aren't tax dates appearing?"

  • Verify that you enabled "Tax Dates" in Settings
  • Your country must be set to Spain
  • Upcoming tax dates for 2025 should appear
  • If it's the end of the year, some 2026 dates will appear later

"I want to see all events in a single calendar"

Excellent idea:

  1. Google Calendar, create "Frihet Finanzas" calendar
  2. FrihetSettingsGoogle Calendar
  3. Select that calendar
  4. All events go there (due dates + tax dates)

"Can I edit events directly in Google Calendar?"

Technically you can, but:

  • ❌ Does not sync to Frihet
  • ❌ Next synchronization overwrites your change
  • ✅ Better: edit in Frihet, Google Calendar updates

"How do I share with my team?"

  1. Create a separate "Frihet Finanzas" calendar
  2. In Google Calendar, share with your team
  3. Permissions "Read" (they only view, not edit)
  4. Your team sees due dates and critical dates
