Connect Slack to Frihet. Receive notifications of important financial events directly in your workspace.

What does it do?​

With Slack integrated:

  • Invoice notifications — When an invoice is paid
  • Due date alerts — Invoices due in the coming days
  • Collection reminders — Clients with overdue invoices
  • Daily summaries — Daily KPIs
  • Milestones achieved — Monthly invoicing goal

Requirements​

  • Active Slack workspace — Where you work
  • Admin permissions in Slack — To install the app
  • Frihet Pro or higher

Install the Frihet app in Slack​

Step 1: Open Frihet​

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Search for Slack
  3. Click "Connect with Slack"

Step 2: Authorize in Slack​

  1. You will be redirected to Slack
  2. Log in with your workspace
  3. You will see the required permissions:
    • Send messages
    • Access basic information
    • Create connections
  4. Click "Authorize"

Step 3: Choose notification channel​

  1. Back in Frihet, choose where to receive notifications:

    • Channel #finance (if it exists)
    • Channel #general
    • Direct message with you
    • Custom channel

  2. Save

Configure notifications​

Open the notifications panel​

  1. Settings → Integrations → Slack
  2. Click "Configure notifications"

Configure frequency​

Daily summary:
- At 08:30 (morning)
- At 18:00 (afternoon)
- Both (recommended)

Due date alerts:
- Every morning
- Only on Mondays
- Manual (on demand)

Team mentions​

If you work in a team on Slack, you can:

  1. Mention someone in a notification
  2. E.g.: "⚠️ @juan_manager: Overdue invoice of €2,500"

Configure in Settings → Slack → Automatic mentions.

Automatic reminders​

Send collection reminder​

When an invoice is overdue, Frihet asks:

⚠️ Overdue invoice: Juan García €1,200

Actions:
[Send reminder] [Mark as paid] [Ignore]

Click "Send reminder" and Slack:

  1. Creates a reminder email
  2. Asks you if you want to send it
  3. Sends it to the client

Payment confirmation​

When you mark an invoice as paid from Slack:

Updated in Frihet 2 seconds ago

Disconnect Slack​

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Slack
  2. Click "Disconnect"
  3. Confirm

Afterwards:

  • You will no longer receive notifications
  • /frihet commands stop working
  • You can reconnect at any time

Privacy​

  • No access to conversations — Frihet only sends notifications
  • Encrypted data — Between Frihet and Slack
  • No message history — Messages are not saved in Frihet
  • Revocable at any time — Disconnect whenever you want

Troubleshooting​

"I'm not receiving notifications"​

  • Verify that Slack is connected ✅
  • In Configure notifications, enable the events you want
  • Check that you chose the correct channel
  • Reload Frihet (F5)

"Can I receive notifications in another channel?"​

Yes. In Settings → Slack → Notification channel, change to another.

Options:

  • Public channel (#finance)
  • Private channel (#secret-projects)
  • Direct message with you
  • Subchannel (@frihet-bot)

"The /frihet commands are not working"​

  • The app must be installed in your workspace ✅
  • In Slack, search in the notification channel and mention @frihet
  • It should then respond with command options

"I work in a team and everyone receives notifications?"​

Yes. If this is a problem, you can:

  1. Use a private channel just for yourself
  2. Or disable certain notifications that seem like spam
  3. Mention specific people in Settings → Automatic mentions
