Connection
Frihet stores your credential and checks that Dropbox accepts it. Frihet does not import data from Dropbox or send data to it.
What Frihet does
- Stores the Dropbox credential you enter securely:
- Access Token (stored encrypted)
- Test connection — Frihet checks the token by requesting your Dropbox account details.
What Frihet does not do
- Dropbox OAuth authorization from Frihet.
- Attaching Dropbox files to invoices, expenses or client records.
- Automatic copy of PDF invoices to Dropbox.
- Folders created by Frihet in your Dropbox.
- Importing receipts or contracts from Dropbox.
Requirements
- An active Dropbox account
- An Access Token generated in the Dropbox developer console
- Save connection requires a free slot in your plan's integration limit: 2 on Free, 5 on Pro, unlimited on Premium.
Connect
Step 1: get the credential in Dropbox
- Open the Dropbox developer console (dropbox.com/developers) and sign in.
- Create an app or open an existing one.
- Generate an access token.
- Copy it.
Important
Paste the token as is, without leading or trailing spaces.
Step 2: save it in Frihet
- In Frihet, go to Integrations.
- Open Dropbox.
- On the Connection tab, paste the Access Token.
- Click Test connection to verify.
- If the test succeeds, click Save connection.
If the test succeeds, the credential is saved. Tokens generated in the Dropbox App Console can expire and Frihet does not renew them: if Test connection fails, generate a new token.
Use cases
- Keep your Dropbox account linked and check that the token is still valid.
- Store your invoices in Dropbox by downloading the PDF from Frihet and uploading it yourself.
Troubleshooting
Connection error
Check that the token was copied correctly and that it has not been revoked in the Dropbox console. Generate a new one and save it in Frihet.
