This integration is available in Frihet. Configure it in Settings → Integrations → DocuSign.

Connect your DocuSign account to Frihet to electronically send documents for signing and track the signing process directly from your ERP. DocuSign is the world's leading e-signature platform, used by over a million companies to sign contracts, agreements, and legally valid documents. With this integration, you can send quotes, contracts, and invoices for digital signature from Frihet, and automate invoice creation when a contract is signed.

What is it for?

  • Send documents for signing — Send quotes, contracts, and invoices from Frihet to DocuSign for electronic signature with one click
  • Status tracking — Check the status of each document (sent, viewed, signed, rejected) directly from Frihet
  • Contract to invoice — When a document is signed in DocuSign, automatically generate the corresponding invoice in Frihet
  • Linked documents — Signed documents are linked to the client's record in Frihet
  • List envelopes — View all your DocuSign documents from the Frihet interface

Requirements

  • Active account on DocuSign (Personal plan or higher)
  • Frihet Pro or Business plan
  • DocuSign Integration Key (obtained from DocuSign Admin)

How to connect

Step 1: Obtain your Integration Key in DocuSign

  1. Log in to admin.docusign.com
  2. Go to Settings → Integrations → API and Keys
  3. Click on Add App / Integration Key
  4. Give it a descriptive name, for example "Frihet ERP"
  5. Configure the Redirect URI with the URL provided by Frihet
  6. Copy the generated Integration Key

Step 2: Configure in Frihet

  1. In Frihet, go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Search for DocuSign and click on the card
  3. Paste your Integration Key into the corresponding field
  4. Click on Connect with DocuSign to complete the OAuth authorization
  5. Accept the requested permissions in the DocuSign window
  6. Click on Save

Use Cases

Consultant sending proposals

You create a quote in Frihet and send it to the client for signing via DocuSign. The client signs from their email or mobile. When the signing is complete, Frihet notifies you, and you can convert the quote into an invoice with one click. The entire proposal-signing-invoice workflow is tracked.

Agency with service contracts

You manage collaboration contracts with clients. You send the contract from Frihet to DocuSign, track the signing status from your dashboard, and when it's signed, automatically generate the first invoice. The signed contract is linked to the client's record.

Freelancer with recurring agreements

You send non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) or service contracts to new clients. From Frihet, you can check which documents are pending signature and send reminders. Once signed, you proceed with invoicing knowing that the contractual relationship is formalized.

Troubleshooting

Connection error

  • Verify that the Integration Key is correct and that the application is active in DocuSign Admin
  • Check that the Redirect URI configured in DocuSign matches the one in Frihet
  • If the OAuth authorization expired, reconnect from Settings → Integrations → DocuSign → Reconnect

Document not sending

  • Ensure that the document has at least one recipient with a valid email
  • Verify that your DocuSign plan includes available sends (some plans have monthly limits)
  • The PDF must be generated correctly in Frihet before sending — verify that the invoice or quote has complete data

Status not updating

  • Frihet checks the document status periodically. If it doesn't update, use the Refresh status button in the document details
  • Status changes in DocuSign may take a few seconds to reflect in Frihet
  • If the recipient has not received the email, verify that the address is correct and check the spam folder

Signed document not linked

  • The signed document is automatically downloaded when the status changes to "signed"
  • If it doesn't appear, verify the connection with DocuSign and click on Download signed document manually
  • Signed documents are stored in Frihet and can be viewed from the client's or quote's record
