Free Plan
Cost: Free forever
Perfect for businesses just starting out.
Limits:

- Reports: Advanced reports with analytics

- Clients: Unlimited

How to change your plan
Upgrade (change to a higher plan)
- Go to Settings > Billing > Your plan
- Select the new plan
- Review the summary of changes (it will show the proration)
- Click Upgrade to [Plan]
- Confirm payment with Stripe
Proration: If you change in the middle of the month, the unused time from the previous plan will be credited to your new invoice.
Example:
You were on Pro ($12/month) since February 1st
On February 15th, you switch to Business ($25/month)
Credit for 14 days of Pro: -$5.60
Charge: $25 (new plan) - $5.60 = $19.40
Downgrade (change to a lower plan)
- Go to Settings > Billing > Your plan
- Select the cheaper plan
- You will be informed about limits (pending invoices, AI overuse, etc.)
- Confirm the change
When it applies: The change takes effect on the next billing cycle. There is no proration for downgrades.
If you are at the limit: If you used 120 invoices on Pro (limit 100), you should be aware that the Free plan only allows 10.
Cancel subscription
If you cancel your paid plan, your account will automatically revert to the Free Plan.
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Click Cancel subscription
- Select a reason (optional, helps us improve)
- Confirm
Your access to Frihet is not lost; only the Free Plan limits will apply starting from the next period.
Note: Refunds are not offered for unused time if you cancel before the end of the month.
Payment Methods
Stripe Billing
Frihet uses Stripe Billing to manage all subscriptions. This ensures:
- PCI Security: Your card is never stored on our servers
- Multiple methods: Debit card, credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay
- Automatic invoices: You will receive your receipt every month
- Secure management: Stripe dashboard to change card, download invoices, view history
Change payment method
In Settings > Billing > Payment method:
- Click Edit payment method
- You will be redirected to Stripe
- Add a new card
- Confirm
The new card will be used for the next automatic charge.
Invoices and receipts
You will automatically receive an invoice by email on the day of each charge.
You can also download all your invoices from Settings > Billing > Payment history.
Invoices are in PDF and include:
- Your subscription details
- Billing period
- Amount charged
- Payment method
Exceeding limits (overage)
If you exceed your plan's limit:
Invoices (Pro: 100/month, Business: unlimited)
You can continue creating invoices, but you will receive an alert. There is no additional charge.
Scanned documents (Pro: 50/month, Business: 200/month)
Scanning stops when you reach the limit. Wait until the next month or upgrade to a higher plan.
AI messages (Pro: 100/month, Business: 500/month)
Works the same as documents. It locks when the limit is reached.
No surprises: You are never automatically charged for overages. You will only receive upgrade suggestions.
Billing Cycle
Cycles are monthly and are calculated from your sign-up date.
Example:
You signed up on February 15th
Cycles: Feb 15 - Mar 15, Mar 15 - Apr 15, etc.
You are automatically charged on the 15th of each month
Data Retention after Cancellation
If you cancel your Premium plan and revert to Free:
- You retain access to your data
- Plan limits apply
- You can export your data at any time (see Security)
- After 90 days of inactivity, your account will be marked as inactive
If you do not log in for 180 days with a Free plan, your account may be deleted (with 30 days prior notification).
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change my plan in the middle of the month?
Yes. It will be prorated automatically.
Are there annual discounts?
Yes. Pay 12 months in advance and save 15-20% depending on the plan.
What happens if I forget to update my card?
We will attempt to charge 3 times (days 1, 5, and 10). If it fails, your plan will be suspended until you update the payment method. Your data will not be lost.
Can I reactivate my account after canceling?
Yes, at any time. Your data is kept in the Free Plan for 180 days.
Do I need a contract or commitment?
No. You can cancel anytime without penalty.
