API Keys

Connect any tool to Frihet: generate an API key and revoke it when you no longer need it.

Overview

Frihet API keys let external applications, scripts and integrations access your account data through Bearer authentication. Each key has a descriptive name and an optional expiration date. All keys carry the same permissions on the public API: Frihet does not offer read-only keys. You can revoke any key without affecting the others. The OpenAPI 3.1 specification is available at /openapi.json to generate clients automatically.

Quick start

  1. Go to Integrations, open the API Keys tab (also in Settings → API) and click Create API Key.
  2. Enter a descriptive name and, optionally, the number of days until it expires (leave it empty for no expiration).
  3. Copy the key. It is shown only once; store it in your secrets manager.

To revoke a key, click Revoke on its row and confirm. The action cannot be undone.

Use with Zapier

API keys are the authentication method for the native Frihet app on Zapier. When you connect Frihet in Zapier, you will need a key generated here. See the Zapier integration guide for the full process.

Reference

Keys are created, listed and revoked only from the app. The public API has no endpoints to manage them.
